The Characteristics of Great Coaches

In my Introduction to Coaching course, I used a presentation by John Stoszkowski as a guide to help the students write out their coaching philosophies.One question was to list three characteristics of great coaches. The students  are primarily former or current athletes - only a handful coach. Therefore, their responses might resemble those that your players would offer.According to my class, great coaches are:

  • Good communicators (4)
  • Caring/Supportive (4)
